DEEP DRAWING METHOD BRINGS A WIDE RANGE OF OPTIONS

As product volumes increase, flexibility can be provided by shifting from hydroforming to deep drawing, which is suitable for large production batches.

Deep drawing enables easy automation and a wide range of possibilities for product forming in large production runs. With deep drawing, structures that improve product rigidity can be created without increasing the material’s thickness. Forming components in this way enables the easy combination of two mutually supportive features, i.e. an attractive appearance and rigidity.

Finland’s biggest deep drawing press was introduced in the spring of 2019 in Relicomp’s plant in Kurikka:

• pressing force of 1,200 tonnes
• press brake force of 600 tonnes
• press brake depth of 600 mm
• press table size 3,000 x 1,600 mm
